This weeks reading was interesting , i managed to read both articles along with watching the video supplied this week. All of which were interesting and about the game design document, which is what we need to create next for our project.

The first article ( click here to view) was about communication and game design documents , it was a nice introduction to a game design document which was clearly laid out and easy to understand. It was good to see the different documents that are possible to make , in the article the game design document is broke down into different sections , this was probably the most helpful thing there was in the article. I was finally able to understand fully what goes into a game design document and it was a relief to see everything that is involved. The rules for game design documents which were outlined in the article where very good such as , keeping it short, prioritise your design and separating code from from content. The rest of the article was also useful such as seeing an example design document format that they were using in there own class.

The second article ( click here to view) was bit more in detail then the previous article , it was very useful in my understanding of a game design document tho. In the article they gave very good examples for each section of the document and made It very easy to understand as to what to include in the design document. The user skills section is defiantly something I wouldn't have though of myself , but its defiantly something that is important as it narrows down the users who will be playing the game .

The video ( click here to view )was helpful to see the design document being made and knowing what goes into it , it was more or less the same info that was given in the previous 2 articles but in a more simple version as he was creating his own design document.
