Alpha

Ok so my game is more or less done i would say, there is a few thing i need to add in and fix up a bit but they wont take too long. So this week i got a lot done on the game, it is quite different to the first playable last week since i spent a lot of time on it this week. This week i got the track layout done, got the sky, shaders, lighting and overall look of the game complete to a point where i am happy with the aesthetics of it , i also made a countdown timer which restarts the game of time runs out, i did also add in that if a player falls off the road they restart at the start but it is not working properly yet so i will have to work on that next week , i also organized my folders in the hierarchy since it was getting quite messy, aswell as all this i added to add in my soundtrack into the game and thankfully it suits it really well. So overall i am very happy eith my progress so far and love how my game is looking and playing right now, what's is next tho? Next up i want to finish off the scene , such as adding in more tress around the track etc, also work on the restart if falls off part. I also next week am going to work o the finish line and the game over part, i did try these this week but honestly they were just too time consuming on top of everything else i have done this week ao i am doing them next and going to put more effort into them since i will have more free time . But this Alpha version of the game is fully playable in unity , looks well and overall feels like a good game so I am looking forward to what i fix up to it next week and complete the final game version

  1. Hey Craig,

I have to say your Alpha build of your game is coming along really well it seems. I really like the visual elements from the screenshots and the video you have attached to your post, very appealing to the eyes. Great to hear that you got so many of the elements working as you wanted them to. The countdown timer is also a great idea, really cool that it will restart if the player falls off the map. Also, organizing the folders in the hierarchy was a great idea, I have started to do that my self as It just makes it much more tidy looking.

  2. Hey Craig. Your alpha of the game looks really cool and interesting. Your game seems to coming together really nicely and looks fun to play. I hope you fix the issues that you were facing. It's cool to see how you have added different things into the game such as the countdown timer. It's good that you organised your hierarchy as this helps clean up the game and notice things easier and it's way easier to access all of the items that you need. I hope you enjoying finishing off your game as it will be great for the semester overall as I feel the game can be kind of time consuming but overall your games looks great.

  3. Hi Craig, this game looks proper fancy! hahahah I'm actually so excited to see it finished at the end of the semester even though it looks pretty solid to me as of now! I love the music in the background, it fits the game perfectly. The colours you used as well are pretty sick, it doesn't distract you from the course but adds such character to the scene. Best of luck!! You zoominnnnn'

  4. Hey Craig,

Omg your game looks unreal. You clearly put so much effort into it. Even with the music and all it really makes the game. The scene itself looks great and its good you have your code working for the most part. I 100% get you that sometimes you just have to call it a day. A lot of the coding and getting things to work can take hours and then you look and it seems like you have nothing done. Cant wait to see the finished game even though right now it seems like its all done

  5. What's up Craig. Fantastic news to hear you are doing so great with your game, you are miles ahead of most other people in this course, myself included 😅. You are managing this semester incredibly well. It's a great deal of work that is expected from us from all the modules but you seem to be rolling with the punches and handling them all. Your perseverance is an inspiration. I hope that I can get my game to a similar state, or at least try to stay on top of my work during the next semester 😂

Best of luck with multimedia and the rest of the semester

Hope you keep doing a brilliant job and stay at the top of the class in semester 2.

  6. Wow nice work on your game Craig it looks unreal! Honestly your game looks graphically and aesthetically better than some of the biggest triple A games that have been released over the past couple of years. Fair play to you for staying on top of the project and creating something so polished, the music is a great touch and really adds a cool atmosphere to the gameplay. I'd love to have my game turn out even half as good as yours. I honestly have no idea how to do most of the stuff you did to get your game ruuning and looking so good, it's honestly so impressive. The video was much appreciated as it's hard to get a feel on how a game plays when you only have screenshots to work with, so thank you for supplying us with that sneak peek. Best of luck with your game and I hope you have a good week off from the project.

  7. Hey Craig,

This game looks impressive so far, especially at the alpha stage! Your lighting and colour choices for the world you've created marry together really well and are visually pleasing. The game itself seems to play well so far and I love the backing track you have going on! You're smashing it so far I can't wait to play!

  9. Hi Craig
Your alpha is looking really good so far, I really like the inclusion of the timer to add a little bit of rush and panic for the player. The choice of music works really well for the game also. I really like the whole aesthetic you have for your track as well it looks really well. Cant wait to see it finished and try it out myself
