Introduction to a future Filmmaker and Photographer
Hello my name is Craig McShane, 18 years old from Navan. I work part-time as a bartender and I have been doing photography for around 3 years now and 2 years for filmmaking. I love most creative things, stuff that does not require me to just sit there and do the same thing over and over. I can get bored very easily. Basically my long term goal is to own my own media company and short term would just to be enjoy college and gain more experience as I go through the course .
Traveling is something i love in life , i have been to a few places but by far my favourite is going to Uganda on a school charity trip with 10 other lads and just 1 teacher . It was chaotic, but something ill never forget . It was also a trip that inspired me even more to get into media , I brought my camera with and captured all the memories and ended up making my first video from all the footage . This video is what i used to show people what I experienced rather then just talking about it I could show them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7yf-bUfFGc&t=1s
So yeh, I choose Creative Digital Media as i felt like it suited me perfectly and it left me with loads of options once i graduate. I plan like last year to do well in my grades for all modules , and to push myself in each module as it will pay off in the long run. For this module I do plan on spending alot of time on it as it is something i have never done before so there is plenty to learn, and creating a game seems exciting in my opinion.
I have always loved watching tv shows and movies , which is probably why i have a passion to make a career out of it , whether that's making short films or directing movies. Who knows what the future holds. But yes , I have watched so much stuff its too hard to say what my favorites are, the list would be too long for this blog post. If I had to choose it would maybe be Interstellar for the movie and Dark for the tv show but then again its constantly changing.
My hobbies are fairly basic , I am big into the gym and would love to compete one day but that's a long way off but its a nice goal to have to keep motivation . I like doing most sports, other then tennis , I was always useless at tennis for some reason. As for music I like quite a lot , I listen to a lot of J.Cole, Jaden Smith, NF, Xxx, Frank Ocean , Mac Miller and the list goes on and on .
Pets , i have on dog called Fonzie . We have no idea what breed he is but he's definitely a bit odd. He was taking away to young from his mother from the previous owner and was instead raised in a house full of cats until we took him home. So yes he still licks his paws at times and pretends to get hair balls in his throat like cats do, but i swear he is a dog. He is around 12 now so getting a bit old but still has the same energy he's always had once he gets his sleep which is usually for the whole day.
Great blog and I remember your work from last year, it is impressive, hope to see more amazing work from you this year and wishing you all the best
ReplyDeleteHey Craig
ReplyDeleteWas really impressed with your work from last year especially the photography skills. Really like the short film you made also. Showing people the short film is a much better way of talking about yourself and really shows your hobbies and interests. Really looking forward to see the work you produce through the year also
Adam
Well Craig I really enjoyed your introduction post about your self and your hobbies. Your school charity trip to Uganda sounds like an amazing experience. You said about how you have found a passion for photography & film making its really cool that you got to document the whole experience instead of just telling it to someone, its something you will never forget
ReplyDeleteHi Craig, I really liked your work from last year and found it very impressive. I think that you defo have a great eye for film and photography, looking forward to see what else you produce throughout the year. I also like the fact that you travel, I myself am big into traveling and experiencing new cultures and countries.
ReplyDeleteWagwan brudda, your introduction blog is very cool and describes you very well and I never knew you were a bartender I also work as a bartender in premier inn. I think you're hobbies and interests perfectly describe this course and I know you'll get far with it. Your work from last year was phenomenal! I wish you all the best with this year see you in class.
ReplyDeleteHi Craig, this was actually a really interesting read. I saw that you visited Uganda which is cool because I've always wondered what's it would be like to travel that far away as I've only been to Latvia and Ireland. I also don't find doing the same thing over and over very fun. It's also good to see how you enjoy photography as you grew up around cameras because I know sometimes people lose interest when they do it for so long so it's good to see that you still have an interest for photography and film making.
